The Northeast/Northwest College Prep Panthers pushed their score all the way to 72 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Gates Chili 76-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (60), Northeast/Northwest College Prep still had to take the loss.
Gates Chili's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joey Vigerzi led the charge by going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. Vigerzi has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Tantalo, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Northeast/Northwest College Prep now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Gates Chili, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.
Northeast/Northwest College Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on School of the Arts at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Gates Chili, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spencerport at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
