Reedy has won seven straight games at home, while Wakeland has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Lions will host the Wolverines at 6:45 p.m. Reedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Reedy earned a 6-1 win over Highland Park.
Malaina Boyst tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Katelyn Crosby, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Crosby is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lily Cetera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Wakeland got themselves on the board against Turner on Tuesday, but Turner never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 16-0 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordan Mcnees looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Lauren McIllwain and Zanna Osborn did most of the damage at the plate: McIllwain went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI, while Osborn went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Osborn has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
Wakeland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive matchups.
Reedy's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Wakeland, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Reedy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like Wakeland struggles in that department as they've averaged .373. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
