Hedley suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 59-25 loss at the hands of Valley. While losing is never fun, Hedley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1521st, while Valley is ranked 82nd).
Silverton posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Claude 49-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Silverton.
Hedley dropped their record down to 2-19 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.6 points per game. As for Silverton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Hedley took a serious blow against Silverton in their previous meeting on January 9th, falling 60-15. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hedley was down 43-8.
