Penn Manor extended the longest winning streak in Lancaster-Lebanon 1 this week by beating Warwick, 40-6. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Comets.
Evan Purvis and Roman Clay gave Lancaster Catholic a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Purvis threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns, while Clay ran for 166 yards. Carmelo Cruz also contributed to the rushing game with 31 yards on the ground.
Brennan Scott provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Manheim Township fell to Wilson. He completed 11 passes for 163 yards and also ran for nine yards. Scott's favorite target this week was Tyler Karpinski, who caught eight passes for 140 yards.
The Blue Streaks' Scott and Karpinski have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Scott has thrown for 1627 yards this season, while Karpinski, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 52 catches for 882 yards. The Crusaders' Clay leads the league in rushing yards with 1456.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Penn Manor takes on second place Wilson. Last week, Penn Manor bested the Warriors, while the Bulldogs topped Manheim Township.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Todd Mealy's team takes on Wilson. The Comets have allowed 61 points this season, while Doug Dahms' team has given up 58. Penn Manor allowed 6 points last week as it bested Warwick.
J.P. McCaskey led Lancaster-Lebanon 1 in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Cedar Crest.
