On Thursday, Geneva had to settle for second even though Bryce Hanover put up the best numbers he has all season. Hanover threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Geneva's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4. Hanover will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Hill Country Christian School of Austin on Friday.

On Friday, Hill Country Christian School of Austin got the W thanks in part to Jacob Rasberry playing the best football he has all season. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making a tackle.
