Birdville lost a heartbreaker to the Panthers when they met back in February of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. Birdville took a hard 70-52 fall against the Panthers. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Birdville in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lake Dallas beat the Broncos 50-46 on Friday. Given Lake Dallas' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Broncos are ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Birdville's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Lake Dallas, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.
Birdville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Falcons when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 63-59 victory. Will Birdville repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
