In other pitching news, Zack Schaller looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
Back at the plate, Brandon Logan was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Cody Shaw made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Shaw was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Noah Gomez was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Defiance pushed their record up to 20-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Fort Wayne Snider, their record now sits at 17-4.
