Basketball Recap: Prairie View Sets Scoring Season-High Against Dakota Ridge

Prairie View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dakota Ridge Eagles. One positive for the Thunderhawks, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Prairie View still got an impressive performance from Elizabeth Scaff, who posted 19 points. Scaff is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Crespin Herrera, who put up 11 points.

Leading Dakota Ridge to victory were Emery Bowman and Darian Lewis. Bowman dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Lewis had 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Barbic, who earned seven points and four steals.

Prairie View's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Dakota Ridge, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Prairie View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-7 loss against Golden on the 10th. As for Dakota Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-39 win against Brighton on the 10th.
