The Ron Brown Monarchs 's four-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They took down Bell 63-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ron Brown also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Ron Brown was led to victory by Lennox Walker and Anthony Collins. Walker scored 19 points along with three steals, while Collins scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Walker scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Andre Mason Jr., who scored eight points along with five steals.
Ron Brown's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Bell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ron Brown will take on Maret at 1:45 p.m. on Monday. Maret presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ron Brown in District of Columbia (Maret is ranked fourth, while Ron Brown is ranked 32nd). As for Bell, they will head out on the road to challenge KIPP College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
