Byron Nelson barely beat Keller Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Byron Nelson was the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over Keller Central on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcat in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won seven in a row.
Byron Nelson got a great performance from Meredith Hambric as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Hambric has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Madison McBride and Emma Thompson did most of the damage at the plate: McBride went 3-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three runs, while Thompson fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave McBride a new career-high in hits. Maya Pardue was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Byron Nelson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Southlake Carroll got the win against Keller Central on Monday by a conclusive 14-4. Considering the Dragons have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Audrey Stroud looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Kelli Warden was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Kuhn, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Southlake Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. Byron Nelson's win bumped their record up to 11-9-1.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Byron Nelson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Southlake Carroll struggles in that department as they've averaged .377. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
