Basketball Recap: Sasha Cebula Key Part of a Team Effort in Cavaliers Win

Richland Northeast hadn't done well against Dreher recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Richland Northeast Cavaliers put the hurt on the Dreher Blue Devils with a sharp 52-26 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Cavaliers have posted against the Blue Devils since December 8, 2017.

Richland Northeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sasha Cebula, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance also gave Cebula a new career-high in blocks (six). Latia Ray was another key player, going 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Richland Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Dreher, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland Northeast will venture away from home to challenge Camden at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Dreher, they will challenge A.C. Flora at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A.C. Flora has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three contests.
