Even though the Smyrna Bulldogs scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, the Cane Ridge Ravens still came out on top. Cane Ridge took down Smyrna 83-65. Given Cane Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Smyrna is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cane Ridge was led to victory by Da'ron Hall and Adam Clark. Hall dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds, while Clark scored 23 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Hall scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Avyion Mccleton, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five steals.
Despite the loss, Smyrna still got an impressive performance from Tyreque Mccarver, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Lance Garner was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Smyrna were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cane Ridge only racked up 21 assists.
The victory makes it two in a row for Cane Ridge and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Smyrna, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
