After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Military Magnet Academy, the Baptist Hill Bobcats were happy to have found some success on Monday. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over Charleston Math & Science. For Baptist Hill, this counts as revenge for the 35-32 loss the Riptide walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Baptist Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sharice Blufton, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Malaya Hill, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Several Riptide players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sarah Brown, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Dalailyn Reed was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and six blocks.
Baptist Hill's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Charleston Math & Science, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baptist Hill will take on the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cross presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bobcats in South Carolina (the Trojans are ranked 96th, while the Bobcats are ranked 221st). As for Charleston Math & Science, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Military Magnet Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70 points per game this season.
