The Copper Canyon Aztecs's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They slipped by Youngker 57-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Zalaya Dupre continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri'ann Felix, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Copper Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Youngker, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5.
Copper Canyon will take on Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Youngker, they will head out on the road to face off against Buckeye at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Buckeye is ranked 102nd, while Youngker is ranked 119th).
