Avon hasn't had much luck against Roncalli recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Orioles will take on the Royals at 6:00 p.m. Avon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Avon's offense. They fell 3-0 to Carmel on Friday. The Orioles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Roncalli had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-5 win. Considering the Royals have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Roncalli let Rudy Schoettle and Drew Nelson run wild. Schoettle went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Nelson went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Nelson has posted over his last ten contests. Sam Roeder was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Roncalli, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Avon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Roncalli struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Avon might still be hurting after the 13-6 loss they got from Roncalli when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can the Orioles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
