The Jenkintown Drakes will head out on the road to face off against the Bristol Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jenkintown will be strutting in after a win while Bristol will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Jenkintown got the win against Springfield Township by a conclusive 69-49. With that victory, Jenkintown brought their scoring average up to 52 points per game.
Jenkintown can attribute much of their success to Kareem Jackson, who went 8 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 2 assists, and Tommy Walsh, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Walsh has scored at least 25% of Jenkintown's points. Matty Ecker was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Meanwhile, Bristol had to suffer through a rough 57-28 loss at the hands of King's Christian. Bristol was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-8.
The losses dropped Jenkintown to 1-1 and Springfield Township to 0-2.
Jenkintown didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bristol in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 42-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jenkintown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
