Basketball Recap: Economedes Piles Up the Points Against San Perlita

Economedes won the last time they faced San Perlita and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Economedes Jaguars blew past the San Perlita Trojans 73-38. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Nathaniel De La Garza was his usual excellent self, going 10 of 19 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds. De La Garza is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Aniel Solis was another key player, putting up six points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Economedes was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November.

Economedes has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for San Perlita, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Economedes and Hanna will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. San Perlita will take on Jubilee Brownsville in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jubilee Brownsville will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something San Perlita surely won't give up without a fight.
