They beat Willowbrook by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-15. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won three games in a row.
Hinsdale South let Lauren Bishop and Kayla Buckels-Meen run wild. Bishop went 3-for-6 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs, while Buckels-Meen went 4-for-6 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI. Bishop has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Diaz-Day, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
Hinsdale South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .380. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .380 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Leyden's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-13. As for Hinsdale South, their win bumped their record up to 7-22-1.
