
Granite Bay football team celebrates its 2012 state title

WHAT: Friends, families, fans and alumni are invited to the
Granite Bay (Calif.) High School Football Stadium this Friday evening for a free celebration to honor the school's three 2012 State Champions. The Granite Bay Grizzly football team, fresh from defeating Long Beach Poly High School, to win its first State Championship will be honored as well State Champion cross country runner, freshman, Maggie Bell, and the 2012 boys' golf team which won its first State Championship in the spring.
In addition, Granite Bay High School's award-winning Emerald Brigade Marching Band will perform as will the school's Extreme Dance Team and the Cheer Team. Grizzly Football Coach Ernie Cooper will speak briefly and unveil the school's latest trophy – the CIF Division I State Championship.
WHEN: Friday, December 21st, beginning at 6:30 p.m. (Rain or Shine)
WHERE: Grizzly Stadium at Granite Bay High School, 1 Grizzly Drive, in Granite Bay.
WHY: There are nearly 2 million high school students in California competing for seven state championships each year. In 2012, Granite Bay High School won State Championships in three (golf, cross country and football) of the seven sports (golf, cross country, football, basketball, track and field, volleyball and wrestling). This is a remarkable achievement! The local community has always been an integral part of Granite Bay High School and Friday night is an opportunity to bring the community and the school together to recognize the remarkable achievements of these outstanding student athletes.
