After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reynoldsburg, the Central Crossing Comets were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 48-38 victory over South. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Central Crossing also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Central Crossing's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cheyenne Taylor, who scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Woods, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, South saw an underclassman step up: Gabby Grimes scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. J'Khyla Foster was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Central Crossing's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for South, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Crossing won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Marysville at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Marysville is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games. South won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Independence at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th.
