Crestwood hasn't had much luck against Pittston recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Comets will be playing at home against the Patriots at 4:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Crestwood 4, Pittston 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Crestwood and Wyoming Valley West, and Crestwood kept the tradition alive. The Comets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Spartans 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Comets have posted against the Spartans since May 7, 2019.

Meanwhile, Pittston put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Berwick with a sharp 19-4 win. Considering the Patriots have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Jacoby Harnen looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Elijah Barr was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Innamorati, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Pittston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .391 or higher in five consecutive games.
The victory got Crestwood back to even at 5-5. As for Pittston, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
