Basketball Recap: Rise Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rise Academy entered their tilt with Dinwiddie on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Dinwiddie Generals by a score of 74-64.

Rise Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathaniel Seaborn out in front who posted 26 points. Seaborn's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Trevonte Atkins was another key player, putting up 16 points along with five assists and five boards.

Rise Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Dinwiddie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Rise Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th. The timing is sure in Rise Academy's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Life Christian Academy has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Dinwiddie will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Thomas Dale at 7:15 p.m. on January 9th.
