The Mountain View Bruins lost against the Payson Lions back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Mountain View was beaten by Payson 62-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mountain View has scored all season.
Payson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cheznie Roundy, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Roundy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyah Bahr, who scored ten points along with seven assists and four steals.
Mountain View's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12. As for Payson, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Provo at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Provo is ranked 92nd, while Mountain View is ranked 86th). As for Payson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Uintah at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Payson is coming into the game with five straight victories at home, meaning Uintah will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
