Edison is 9-1 against Port Clinton since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chargers will be taking part in a tournament against the Redskins at 4:30 p.m. Edison will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Edison got the win against Perkins by a conclusive 16-2. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jordyn Perry tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Edison got a massive performance out of Peyton Bissell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Bissell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Edison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Port Clinton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Fostoria on Monday as they made off with an 18-4 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Redskins' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Ashton Sanchez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Sanchez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Belden, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. Karley Hibner was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.
Edison pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Port Clinton, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Edison hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Port Clinton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Edison's way against Port Clinton in their previous meeting on Friday, as Edison made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redskins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
