This season hasn't been kind to the Wisner-Pilger Gators, who are still winless after their seventh game. They had to suffer through a rough 70-36 loss at the hands of Arlington. Wisner-Pilger was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Arlington apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Arlington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trent Koger out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Koger's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Jaxson Burns was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds.
Wisner-Pilger's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Arlington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Wisner-Pilger will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fort Calhoun at 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Arlington will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Lincoln Lutheran at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln Lutheran is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
