It was a good run, but the Oakes Tornadoes unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 47-34 to Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock. Oakes was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Molly Sitzler, who scored nine points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Jackson, who scored five points along with five steals.
Oakes' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2. As for Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Oakes will stay at home for another game and welcome Maple River at 5:30 p.m. on January 11th. Maple River has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three contests. Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Kidder County co-op [Steele/Tappen] on January 11th.
