The Desert Heights Prep Yote lost against the Apache Junction Prospectors back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Desert Heights Prep was beaten by Apache Junction 65-33. Desert Heights Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Apache Junction's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Castro, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Omar Adam, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Desert Heights Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Apache Junction, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Heights Prep and BASIS Phoenix will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. BASIS Phoenix comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Apache Junction, they will be playing at home against Superior at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Superior is ranked 334th, while Apache Junction is ranked 311th).
