Hoggard extended the longest winning streak in 4A/3A Conference 17 this week by beating Ashley, 37-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Hoggard took down the Screaming Eagle 37-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Austin Schoenleber threw for 120 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.
Scott Braswell's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Keevin Thompson contributed 90 yards. Harrison Smith helped Hoggard's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 54 yards.
Kirk Messick was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Vikings bested Ashley. He grabbed 1 interception.
Randall Emerson was the best wideout in the league this week as Hoggard beat Tom Eanes' team. Emerson racked up 3 receptions for 60 yards. Smith helped Hoggard's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 54 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Tariq Lane of Laney is the league leader in passing yards this season with 761. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Emerson. The Hoggard star has 29 catches for 429 yards.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Vikings' Emerson goes up against the Buccaneers' Sam Frank.
