The Jordan Warriors will head out to take on the Cinco Ranch Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Jordan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Jordan's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Morton Ranch. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Jordan let Madison Royse and Madeline Jovanovic run wild. Royse got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Jovanovic went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Royse has posted since back in February of 2025. Jezelli Martinez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Jordan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive contests.
While Cinco Ranch didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Katy Taylor on Tuesday as they made off with a 9-1 win. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Mustangs on their field since February 14, 2023.
Gaby Perez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Perez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Lindsey DeLeon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kaedyn Maxwell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Jordan's record is now 10-2. As for Cinco Ranch, their record now sits at 7-4-1.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jordan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .412. However, it's not like Cinco Ranch struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jordan beat Cinco Ranch 10-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
