The Bloomfield Bees lost against the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bloomfield might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 47-44 to Hartington-Newcastle, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Bloomfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bloomfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Abbenhaus, who scored 17 points. Abbenhaus scored a full 38.6% of Bloomfield's points, the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kora Poppe, who scored 13 points.
Bloomfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will take on Ponca at TBD on Friday. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Winside at 6:00 p.m. Winside is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
