The Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Liberty Christian Academy at home to the tune of 73-13. Winning may never get old, but Westwood Baptist Academy sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
It was another big night for James Hawley, who scored 19 points along with six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Ben Jones was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Liberty Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Westwood Baptist Academy's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.67 points. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Heritage Classical Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Heritage Classical Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Westwood Baptist Academy is ranked 180th). As for Liberty Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on North County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North County Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
