Volleyball Recap: West Jordan Has No Trouble Against Cyprus

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westlake, West Jordan was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cyprus Pirates. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

West Jordan was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-19.

Miles McAfee paced West Jordan's offense, picking up 14 kills. McAfee got some help from Traeh Tuaumu and his 32 assists. McAfee was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

West Jordan's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Cyprus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. West Jordan is set to take on their familiar foe Kearns at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cyprus will challenge rival Granger at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
