The Summit Tigers entered their tilt with the Steamboat Springs Sailors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Summit managed a 50-46 victory over the Sailors on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Summit also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Emilio Jain, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Sam Eldredge was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Steamboat Springs lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brady Adams, who scored six points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Adams hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Sturges, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Steamboat Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summit only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Summit pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Steamboat Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summit will challenge the Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 53.57 points so far this season, Glenwood Springs' high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Tigers better be ready for a challenge. As for Steamboat Springs, they and the Bulldogs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
