The Lake Stevens Vikings will square off against the Kamiak Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lake Stevens 3.5, Kamiak 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Saturday, Lake Stevens got the win against Edmonds-Woodway by a conclusive 9-3. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Emmitt Linehan looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
At the plate, Julian Wilson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Seth Danielson was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Lake Stevens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Kamiak has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Lake Stevens, falling 14-4. It was the first time this season that the Knights let down their fans at home.
Kamiak saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Bovey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Bovey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another was Maddux Phimmasane, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Lake Stevens is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Kamiak's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.
Everything went Lake Stevens' way against Kamiak in their previous matchup on Thursday, as Lake Stevens made off with a 14-4 victory. Will Lake Stevens repeat their success, or does Kamiak has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
