The Purvis Tornadoes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They took a 69-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbia. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Judd Gipson, who scored 14 points. Bredren Elenus was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Purvis has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Columbia, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.
Purvis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Columbia also has no future games currently scheduled.
