The Redeemer Classical Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Appalachian Christian Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Redeemer Classical had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by Blue Ridge Christian 61-20 two weeks ago. Redeemer Classical was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.
Meanwhile, Appalachian Christian pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 75-59 to Ridgeview Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Appalachian Christian in their matchups with Ridgeview Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Appalachian Christian got a solid performance out of Blake Waldron, who scored 29 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Jaxon Duff was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Redeemer Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Appalachian Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Redeemer Classical didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Appalachian Christian in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 47-43 victory.
