College Park is 9-1 against Alhambra since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will square off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m.
College Park couldn't beat Benicia on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Falcons fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alexis Weiler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Kaitlyn Sparks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Alhambra got the win against Acalanes on Thursday by a conclusive 10-2. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Willa Adler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mia Brady was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Genevieve Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Alhambra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Alhambra has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for College Park, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1.
College Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Alhambra when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
