Plainwell extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping them up to 5-1. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Otsego Bulldogs. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

As for Otsego, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

For Otsego's part, Nolan Whitmore made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Nate Maisel also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Coming up, Plainwell will welcome Wayland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Otsego, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Niles at 4:00 p.m. on April 14.
