After flying high against the St. Augustine Knights last Saturday, The Logos Prep Academy Lions came back down to earth. Logos Prep Academy fell 62-50 to Saint Mary's Hall on Friday. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Logos Prep Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Brayden Tibbetts and Caleb Sedgwick. Tibbetts threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt, while Sedgwick picked up 224 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Sedgwick was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 67 yards.
Logos Prep Academy's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Covenant Christian and 6-1 Emery/Weiner (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 80.6% over those games). As for Saint Mary's Hall, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Logos Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Saint Mary's Hall will be playing in front of their home fans against Giddings Lonestar Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
