Baseball Recap: Mills University Studies Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pine Bluff

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mills University Studies). Everything went their way against the Pine Bluff Zebras on Thursday as they made off with an 18-6 victory. With that win, the Comets brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Maddox Parker made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Parker was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aarachai Briggs was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Mills University Studies: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Diego Solis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

The victory got Mills University Studies back to even at 8-8. As for Pine Bluff, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Looking ahead, Mills University Studies will venture away from home to face off against Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine Bluff, they will welcome White Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Zebras surely won't give up without a fight.
