The Chesterfield Golden Rams won the last time they faced the York Prep Patriots, and things went their way on Friday too. Chesterfield came out on top against York Prep by a score of 52-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chesterfield.
Kierra Diggs was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Chesterfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Turnage, who scored six points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, York Prep still got an impressive performance from Payton Munsey, who scored 12 points. The match was Munsey's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Charity Chisholm, who scored eight points.
Chesterfield's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for York Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesterfield will take on Cheraw at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cheraw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday. As for York Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Westminster Catawba Christian at 6:30 p.m.
