Runge suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They had to suffer through a rough 64-14 loss at the hands of Pettus.
Meanwhile, Moulton came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 win over Pettus. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Moulton has posted yet this season.
Runge bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.8 points per game. As for Moulton, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Runge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 33-15 loss to Moulton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023.
