Lincoln and Sergeant Bluff-Luton are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2024, but likely not for long. The Lynx will venture away from home to square off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Lincoln will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against St. Albert on Wednesday. The Lynx were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Falcons. The victory continues a trend for the Lynx in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.
Devin Adler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other pitching news, Alex Franco got the start for Lincoln and what a start it was: he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Franco has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Lincoln let Riley Lincoln and Greyson Clark run wild. Lincoln went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while Clark went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Lincoln a new career-high. Another player making a difference was CJ Walton, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Sergeant Bluff-Luton beat Sioux City West 10-5 on Tuesday.
Lincoln's record is now 15-4. As for Sergeant Bluff-Luton, their record now sits at 12-10.
Lincoln was able to grind out a solid win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton in their previous meeting back in May, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lynx since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
