The Middleton Vikings waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They snuck past Rocky Mountain with a 59-53 victory. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but Middleton was the better team in the second half.
Middleton found their leader in underclassman Aysha Fried, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fried pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Robynn Flowers, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Middleton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Rocky Mountain, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middleton will square off against Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Middleton is ranked 12th). As for Rocky Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Timberline at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
