Basketball Recap: Alamo Navajo Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

If Corona/Vaughn wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Alamo Navajo, they should've done a better job of containing Scotty Guerro. The Alamo Navajo Cougars breezed by the Corona/Vaughn Cardinals to the tune of 78-35 on Tuesday thanks in part to Guerro, who went 12 for 20 en route to 28 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played.

Zephaniah Guerro was another key player, putting up 33 boards and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high.

Alamo Navajo pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points per game. As for Corona/Vaughn, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alamo Navajo will challenge Quemado at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alamo Navajo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.8 points per game this season. Corona/Vaughn has already played their next match (against Hondo Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
