Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg are taking a road trip to square off against the Okaw Valley Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg is headed out to face Okaw Valley after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg blew past Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] 14-4 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg as they're now sitting on nine straight dating back to last season.
Kendall Morris made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Morris was also big at the plate, scoring a run.
In other batting news, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg got a big performance out of Branson Tingley, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Blayzz Verdeyen, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Okaw Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let Central A & M get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Timberwolves have beaten the Raiders the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Raiders has come to flipping the script.
Like Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, Okaw Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Braden Montgomery. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Montgomery was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Okaw Valley let Dalton Vanausdoll and Maddux Rozanski run wild. Vanausdoll got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Rozanski scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker O'Dell, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg couldn't quite finish off Okaw Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
