Southeast made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Northeast, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Southeast put the hurt on Northeast with a sharp 10-4 victory on Friday. Considering the Lancers have won three games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Carter Buzard and Colten Jameson made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Buzard struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Jameson pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Buzard scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Jameson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Tyler Warner was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gannon Hobbs, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Southeast now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Northeast, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Southeast is set to take on their familiar foe Pleasanton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Northeast will face off against rival Crest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Northeast is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Crest a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
