Newton HomeSchool found their leader in underclassman Lila Busenitz, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Chloe Hoelscher, who scored four points along with three steals.
Chanute Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Newton HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Chanute Christian strolled past Newton HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 49-32. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Newton HomeSchool's Rachel Graham, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
