The Beaumont Cougars won the last time they faced the Cajon Cowboys, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Beaumont came out on top against Cajon by a score of 56-43. Given Beaumont's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Cajon is ranked 612th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beaumont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vince tracy Capuras led the charge by scoring 21 points along with eight steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Farias, who scored 19 points.
Beaumont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Cajon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
Beaumont will head out on the road to face off against Yucaipa at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Yucaipa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cajon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Redlands East Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Redlands East Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
