Make it 11 blowout wins for the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs this season. They blew past Paradise Valley 61-32 at home. The victory was just what Sunrise Mountain needed coming off of a 64-37 defeat in their prior contest.
Sunrise Mountain found their leader in underclassman Addison Wiemann, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Wiemann hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Jaden Maza was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Paradise Valley's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Neha Patel and Kaitlyn Jimmy. Patel scored 14 points along with two blocks, while Jimmy scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Paradise Valley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sunrise Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Paradise Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
Sunrise Mountain will head out on the road to take on Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Sunrise Mountain is ranked 30th). As for Paradise Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Apollo at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
